Korean Beauty In UK – Selfridges Finds

Hello my Kbeauty lovers! ^^

Today I’ve got (most probably) the last Korean beauty find’s post for you!

I just love researching the market for the offers to be honest, and finding a good offer on Korean beauty stuff always feels the best. So far I’ve shown you what I’ve found in Superdrug and TK MAXX. This time I’ve decided to check out the queen of English shopping centers! The SELFRIDGES itself.

Personally, I don’t go shopping to Selfridges. I find it somehow.. intimidating? lol

However I did have a job interview over there only to find out I don’t fit because of my pink hair. Oh well…

But coming back to the subject!

On Selfridges’ website I’ve actually found quite a lot of stuff! There’re the brands we all know and love like Tonymoly for example, some of them I’ve never heard about – like The Oozoo. Some of them are also quite well known and quite high end as well.

I’ve noticed that sadly most of the products shown on their website are quite overpriced… but what do you expect from a high end shopping mall, eh? ^^;

Let me show you the best and the most interesting deals tho! ^^ I wanted to make it strictly £20 and under! 😀

We all know sheet masks are usually under £20 so I’m not going to include any in this post ^^

August And September 2018 Empties

Hello my loves!

In this little post I will share with you what I’ve managed to (finally!) use up lol ;’D !

I’ve been wondering for a while now if I should keep it strictly Kbeauty or add all the Western products in here as well? You tell me ^^ !

This time I’ve decided to add all the empties from the past two months to add a little variety ^^

Shall we start?

L’oreal Paris perfect match concealer 1.R/C Rose Ivory

I always struggle with a good under eye concealer! They’re always too yellow/orange or they don’t give any coverage orz !!! I picked it randomly because I was hoping for the colour to be more pink’ish and cool-toned and it was my real perfect match lol! Really creamy, not too heavy, wasn’t getting cakey and the colour was amazing for my skin tone!

However, when I was in Poland I didn’t see that shade in the stores o.O ! So I’m not sure if you can actually buy this one in every country (which is actually quite disappointing.. )

My score: 10/10

Essence make me brow (01 blondy brows)

One of my holy grails! No jokes! I loveeee this eyebrow mascara!!! The shade is perfect, cool ashy blonde and the wand is also tiny and I could never make a mess with it lol! The price is also super amazing! And apparently, it’s also a good dupe for Benefit’s eyebrow mascara 😉

My score: 10/10

Koelf gold royal jelly hydrogel eye patch

Hmm… I’m honestly not so sure about this one… While using them they’d make my under eye area feel nourished and relaxed but I didn’t really see anything apart from that! I was hoping they’re gonna help me diminish my slowly appearing crows feet wrinkles ( … ;___; ) but nothing like that happened. I don’t know, I really don’t know what to say about this product. Just nothing special for me.

My score: 3/10

Innisfree bija trouble cleansing gel

Another product that I have completely NO feelings for! I’m neither positive or negative about it. My skin did feel nice and clean after using it, I have to admit that! However, I find that tea tree scent waaaaaay overpowering! Did it help me with acne? Difficult to say, ’cause I didn’t really have any while using it. Would definitely not recommend to anyone with sensitive skin tho! (tea tree oil again!)

My score: 6/10

I ❤ Revolution makeup fixing spray (green tea)

Okay, I’M OBSESSED! It’s a really nice fixing spray and also a very affordable one! Maybe wouldn’t be perfect for those with oily or very oily skin but for my combination was great! I love the scent of green tea, in general, that’s why I chose this one lol Gotta love it tho!

My score: 9,5/10

The Face Shop multi 5 layer cotton pads

I don’t know what do you want me to say about it lol! I really like the idea of square-shaped multi-layered cotton pads! They’re super budget friendly as you can separate the layers! ^^ For toner I’d normally use 2/3 layers. If you have more like a lotion type of toner (that’s a good tip for dry skin btw!) you can always divide all the layers, soak them up with it and place on your face for a couple of minutes to give your skin some nice moisture boost ^^

My score: 10/10

SkinFood salmon brightening eye cream

I was very, very disappointed with this product to be honest ;_; My under eye area can get pretty dark since I never get enough of sleep when I work so I thought that something brightening would help it a lot! But hmm, I didn’t really get any brightening effect, I didn’t feel much moisture either. And I really don’t like the idea of a JAR! Why not a squeezy tube? D:

My score: 1/10

Revolution conceal & define liquid concealer C1

Another GREAT concealer ❤ ! I love the shade, I love this slightly bigger dove foot applicator and I LOVE the price! It’s super budget friendly and it’s exceeded my expectations! I would definitely recommend it to all of you! Plus, it’s an amazing dupe for Tarte’s shape tape ;D

My score: 10/10

Benefit precisely, my brow pencil (no.2)

Oh gosh, I’m so looking for a Korean dupe to that lol! I LOVE THIS PENCIL! This is by far the best one I’ve ever used from ANY brand!!! I’m so in love I had to buy another one… The colour is AMAZING!!!! It gives you this very natural but also very polished and clean look! Super easy to use, very thin and great spoolie at the need too! The minus? More on the expensive side boohoo… ;_; This is why I had to take one point out of the final score…

My score: 9/10

Missha the original tension pact perfect cover no.13 (refill)

This is another holy grail of mine! I love this bb cushion, it gives me the perfect colour and decent yet very natural looking coverage ^^ Honestly, it’s not going to give you full 100% coverage but it’s still very decent. I love that the shade no.13 is a perfect match for me, to the point that people sometimes ask me if I’m wearing any foundation cause my skin looks so great! This is my 3rd refill I think! I’m definitely gonna be testing more cushions but at the moment this one is my number one!

My score: 10/10

And that’s it my Beauty Lovers! ^^

I’m so glad I’ve had more good products to show you than the bad ones 😀 !

I hope you liked it ^^ !!

Korean Beauty In UK – Superdrug Finds

Hello guys ^^ ~!

Today I’m posting the first ever post in my new series “Korean Beauty in the UK! 😀

Korean beauty is getting more and more popular in Europe, I’ve seen it everywhere in the drugstores in Poland (my holidays ^^ ) and I decided to search for it in UK too!

Normally I buy my things either from yesstyle.com or one store I will be writing about in the future ^^

Make sure to subscribe to see more posts about Kbeauty in UK!

Jac's Beauty Blog

I shop in Superdrug quite often, it’s literally next to my workplace lol

However, if you want me to be perfectly honest, I’ve never seen any Kbeauty stuff there! Maybe it’s because my local Superdrug is not that big but still…

Just a few days ago I came up with the idea of creating this mini-series of Kbeauty finds in the UK and started browsing different websites and thinking about the other places I go to!

Brands and products

On Superdrug’s website, we can find a few Korean brands, not too many though. Half of them are actually Korean-inspired but made in Europe or America. Same with the variety, there’re mostly sheet masks available and there’s no further info on the website if they’re going to increase the brand and product range.

A brand I’ve honestly never heard about it. Checking all the packagings only showed me that this is the British brand with the head office in London. This brand doesn’t seem to have a website so I can’t give you any more info about it.

Prices range from 2,99GBP for sheet masks to 12GBP for a gift set.

Jiinju Egg White Sheet Mask

JiinJu Green Tea Pod Mask

Jiinju Sheet Masks and Head Band Gift Set

A brand made in New York. On their website (which is also their online store) you can find quite a lot of products that are not available in Superdrug at the moment. Their cosmetics are not tested on animals and they have great reviews too! ^^

On Superdrug’s website prices range from 2,99GBP to 3,99GBP and all they offer are face masks.

Soo’Ae Acai Berry Sleeping Mask

Soo’Ae Supreme Gold Hydrogel Mask

SNP is a Korean brand mostly known for their sheet masks and eye patches. On Superdrug’s website there’s sadly only a small variety of their sheet masks :c

Prices range from 2,99GBP to 4,99GBP for a mask.

SNP Fresh Vitamin C 2-Step Hydrating Mask

SNP Green Tension Firming Lifting Mask

Another good Korean brand that sells sheet masks (I am totally sheet mask obsessed, lol :”D )! Again, not a big range is being sold on Superdrug’s.

Prices range from 4,99GBP to 5,99GBP.

Dewytree Charcoal & Ash Clay Deep Detox Black Sheet Mask

Dewytree 3-Step Sheet Mask for Dull Skin

This is definitely one of my fav Korean brands! It’s really affordable and their cleansing oil is absolutely FAB! On Superdrug’s website, we’ve got some sheet masks and just a couple of other products but I guess that should be enough for everyone to discover the brand.

Prices range from 5,99GBP to 12,99GBP.

Scinic Dual Moisture Wrapping Mask

Scinic All Day Fine Pore Mint Paste

I hope you guys enjoyed this first post!

In the future posts, I will be showing you more places to buy Kbeauty from so don’t forget to subscribe for updates! ^^

My Yesstyle Mini Haul August 2018

Today I’ve decided to show you what I bought from yesstyle.com in August ^^ ~!

I shop with them every month tbh because there’s always something I need lol

To get a free delivery to the UK, you just need to spend 30GBP (btw, this post is not sponsored!) so this is about how much I spend there everytime ^^;

Ok, onto the good stuff!

TONYMOLY – Lovely Eyebrow Pencil

I’ve completely finished my Benefit eyebrow pencil (I’m gonna post more in the future post about empties ^^) and I was looking for a cheaper dupe for it. Colour no.6 latte brown looked quite ok online, however, when it arrived to me it was broken inside and sadly the colour was completely different than I thought! It was this horrible super warm reddish brown D: ! The product itself is good in general, but the colour – completely off!

Secret Key – Snail Repairing Gel Cream

Secret Key - Snail Repairing Gel Cream

From YesStyle’s website:

Snail gel cream contains snail and caviar extracts plus EGF (epidermal growth factor) that helps stimulate cell growth and multiplication. Along with lanolin, non-germ pork placenta and white mushroom extract, the cream helps to soothe, clarify and brighten skin while protecting it from environmental stressors. Apply morning and night.

Major Ingredients:
purified water, glycerin, witch hazel extract, 1,2-hexandiol, acrylate/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, filtered snail mucus, Zanthoxylum piperitum fruit extract, pasqueflower extract, triethanolamin, polysorbate 80, human oligopeptide-1, sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera juice, panthenol, tocopheryl acetate, lemon extract, beta-glucan, acetyl hexapeptide-8, disodium EDTA, perfume

I’m slowly running out of my night cream (I’m gonna post my evening skincare routine in the future ^^) so I decided to get this one c: I really like snail products, to be honest, even for my combo skin!

MACQUEEN – Fake Up 3 Color Shading

Image from Korea Cosmetic Mall

From YesStyle:

Contour your face with this tri-color palette! Contains coconut oil to moisturize skin, propanediol from fermented corn for smooth adherence and Vitamin E to prevent loss of moisture.

Major Ingredients:

My shading powder has literally just smashed when I was going on my holidays (T-T) so I’m really lucky I got this one! Haven’t tried it yet, hopefully, will be as good as my current one from Too Cool For School ^^

A’PIEU – Pastel Blusher VL01

From YesStyle:

With 15 shades to choose from, A’PIEU’s Pastel Blusher is your go-to for rosy and natural-looking cheeks. Simply apply the color to your cheeks using the built-in brush to create a healthy glow.

I looooove lavender blushers as the base for my other blush (lol, I’m so extra xD )! The one I’ve got now it’s not that great and it’s almost finished so I just needed a new one :3

The Saem – Natural Mask Sheet Gold Kiwi

Goodal – Mild Sheet Mask Citron (Brightening)

Do you have any of these? Do you like them? ^^ Maybe yu just find them interesting?

Let me know in the comments section below ^^ ~!

See you in the next post!

My Current Morning Skincare Routine

You’ve probably noticed already that I’m a huuuugeee fan of Kbeauty! Which also means I love Korean skincare routine ^^ !

In this little post, I’m going to share with you my current morning skincare routine’s products!

Enjoy ^_^ !

My skin is by no means perfect, it’s the complete opposite of perfect, to be honest. It’s combo/oily, I used to have a really bad hormonal acne so I’m left with a lot of scars (you know, this holes in your skin..) and a bit of redness. My pores are also incredibly easy to get clogged, I’m still fighting with the blackheads and whiteheads. Did I also mention that I’m in my late 20s?

Okay, you get the point.

I change my skincare routine from time to time and I also like changing the products I use. Mostly because some of them either don’t work for me, or they just turn out to be too heavy for my skin and congest my pores. Well, these are the main reason for which I wasn’t sure about writing this kind of post…

These products I’ve been using for a while now and I’m quite happy with them. I will probably change them (I will make sure to update you about it, no worries ;D ), but for now, I’m quite pleased with them ^^

1. Primark’s micellar cleansing water

You can actually use any micellar water. Before I was using the one from Garnier. I don’t wash my face in the morning, I prefer to remove all the dirt and sebum with micellar water. I’m just using a cotton pad, soak it with a bit of the product and now I’m ready for the next step ^^

2. Toner

I really like this toner from SKIN79 in the morning, I’ve already got my second bottle! This is a very mild and refreshing toner, it’s also 500ml so it’s gonna last you for a while! For all the dry-skinned folks they also make a pink – moisturising – version ^^

3. Essence

I think that Innisfree is one of my fav skincare brands. This light essence is refreshing and yet hydrating at the same time. I haven’t noticed any difference in terms of my pores tho lol so I think I will be changing this one in the future.

4. Gel cream

I love this product! I know it’s not Korean but oh my god, I’m so looking for a dupe to it! I’ve got a version for combo skin, it’s watery and light but after you use it makes your skin feel so fresh and full of hydration! It’s really a great feeling! I don’t know if you’ve noticed btw, but in the morning I like my skin to feel fresh and hydrated! And I guess this type of products you will see in general when it comes to my day time skincare!

5. SPF

prod-P30140_SensitiveAdvanced-big copy

Yes, it’s not a mistake – it’s a product for kids. However, it doesn’t have any funky colour to it so why not use it? It’s a really great SPF,  a little goes a long way, it doesn’t have any scent to it and it’s safe to use both on your face and body!

Okay, guys!

I hope I didn’t bore you to death lol! Maybe you’ve found something new and interesting in this post? ^^

Don’t forget to comment, share and obviously subscribe! 😀

Love you all!

How To Find The Best Cleanser For Your Skin Type!

Finding the best cleanser can be a proper nightmare sometimes, I know that myself! Foam? Gel? Milk? There are so many to choose from!

In this post, I’ve prepared a mini cheat-sheet for you guys! ^^ It’s all about the 2nd cleansing!

Starting with the oil…

If you read my blog post on 10 steps Korean skincare or even The Practical Guide To Find The Best Cleanser For Acne-prone Skin, then I’m sure you already know I’m going to start with the cleansing oil (or a cleansing balm)!

Cleansing oils are a MUST HAVE for me and they should be the same for you too ^.~ !

They’re very high in emollient oils that not only cleanses but also moisturises your skin! They remove the dirt and even the waterproof makeup without lathering. These are not the typical oils you can find in the kitchen, they are made to be water soluble so they don’t leave that heavy and greasy residue.

Because they’re very gentle on the skin and as I mentioned before they can be very moisturising – I very often hear that they’re the best for dry skin.

However, in my opinion, they’re perfect for ALL SKIN TYPES, as you should follow up with the second cleanser anyways ^^

Cleansing milks/creams.

+ Definitely the best for dry skin
very high in emollients
+ low in surfactants
+ removes dirt
+ won’t dry out your skin since it doesn’t produce much lather
+ gentle on the skin

– can struggle with waterproof makeup
– can leave a residue
– can clog pores

Cleansing foams/gels.

+ The best for oily skin
high in surfactants
+ low in emollients
+ produces a lot of lather to cleanse your skin thoroughly
+ removes dirt and waterproof makeup (usually quite easily)
+ doesn’t leave residue

– can be drying

At this point, I’m going to mention some other popular cleansing methods!

Micellar Water

+ great for all skin types, including sensitive
+ high in gentle surfactants
+ low in emollients
+ doesn’t lather
+ removes dirt
+ doesn’t leave any residue
+ doesn’t need to be rinsed off (HOWEVER! Most of the Korean micellar waters DO say to rinse them off!)
+ gentle on the skin
+ to me personally could do as a second cleanser after oil/balm

– doesn’t remove makeup very well on its own

Cleansing wipes

+ great in emergencies

– don’t remove makeup in 100%
– don’t cleanse your skin in 100%
– you have to rub your skin with them
– may leave a residue
– can be drying

– not good for any skin type, just avoid it!
– disrupts your skin’s protective barrier
– drying
– can be irritating

– best to just avoid
– small particles can be irritating for your skin

I hope I’ve touched up on every popular cleansing method and gave you a brief summary on how to find the best cleanser for your skin type ^^ !

If you have any questions about this post, please let me know in the comments section 😀
